Who are we?

  • We are a religious order in the Anglican Communion.
  • We are involved in the contemporary world, seeking to promote unity and reconciliation and in caring for the marginalised.
  • We are committed to the spiritual search in the Christian tradition and seek to follow the way of St Francis of Assisi in humility, love and joy.

Brian – lives a hermit life at our friary in Hamilton. He has a ministry of prayer and preaching. He Brianhas formerly been our Minister Provincial and Minister General. Brian is involved in priestly ministry at the friary and Te Ara Hou Village. He is engaged in spiritual direction and retreat conducting.

Damian Kenneth – is our administrator, editor of Franciscan Angles and looks after our website. He is a member of the Anglican Action Council.

Douglas Pratt – is an Associate Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Waikato and a Canon Theologian (Emeritus) of the Diocese of Waikato. He lives as part of our community from Monday to Thursday each week.
